Notes before we begin: This is a longer meditation designed to not only teach you how to shield, but also give you the chance to feel the energies of several types of shields. If you can’t feel the changes in energy or can’t erect a full shield the first time you do this meditation, just keep practicing. Shielding, like all forms of meditation, improves with regular practice. If you prefer, have someone read this meditation to you as you do it or record yourself reading it and play the recording while you meditate to guide you.
“Sit or recline in a comfortable position with your limbs uncrossed.
Take a deep breath in through your nose, feel the air filling your lungs, and then, exhale through your mouth, feel the air leaving your lungs.
Take two more deep breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth.
Continue breathing deeply as you ground yourself and then center yourself.
Take your time and feel your body relax and your energy come together.
Deep breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth.
… When you are grounded and centered, feel a white shimmery ball of energy form just below your heart within your body. Feel the energy knowing that this energy isn’t going to harm you.
How does it feel? Is it warm? Cold? Does it tickle? Does it make you feel calm? …
After you feel the energy for a little, you notice that the ball is growing and spreading all around your body. It sort of feels like you are a baby chick safe inside a flexible egg.
Tell yourself that “I am protected. My energy is safe.” Feel the safety that the egg provides you. This glowing egg that surrounds your aura is your shield, it keeps all negativity and energetic harm away from you. It also keeps your energy safe from anyone or anything that may want to try and take it away.
Continue taking deep breaths and feel the safety that the energy barrier is providing you. Now visualize that energy field changing colors.
First it turns a soft shade of pink. Feel the energy shift with the color. What does it feel like?... Pink is the color of joy, comfort, and love. It is a great color to make your shield when you feel you need others to react with compassion towards you or you just need a little comfort. …
Now we are going to change the color again, see the pink fade to white and now the shield is going to turn a shiny golden color. Feel the energy change. What does a golden shield feel like? …Gold is a color of creativity, divinity, and knowledge. This is a great shield to have when you need to study or create. Gold is also a confidence boost color. Feel that ‘I can do anything I set my mind to’ energy. …
Ready to try one final one? Let the shield fade back to white again. On your next breath, see the shield turn a watery blue. How does this one feel? ...Blue is great when you need calm or rest. It’s a soothing color. When you feel overwhelmed, scared, or tired, create a blue shield. This is a great shield to use as you go to sleep. …
Now, allow your shield to fade back to white. Take another deep breath and as you release your breath, see the shield float off into space breaking apart into tiny pieces as it does. Take two more deep breaths and settle back into your body. When you are ready, open your eyes.
